Since Conquer was established in 2015, it has been a priority of ours to ensure we are giving back to the community in a variety of ways and implementing sustainable practices.

Over the years we have participated in various local events, hosted our own fundraisers, donated to different charity’s and local groups and created our own initiatives.

SUSTAINABILITY

Pearl & Rosie are our two Conquer chickens! Pearl and Rosie produce eggs for us to give to our members.

Any food scraps from our team or members go directly to them (they especially love the My Muscle Chef Meals) so that we can reduce the amount of waste going into landfill.

In 2022, we also planted 6 fruit trees alongside our car park. The longer a fruit or vegetable has been picked from its plant, the more vitamins and nutrients it will lose. These compounds naturally deplete over time, so the key to getting the most nutrient-dense fruit is by eating them straight from the tree.

Besides the obvious benefit of producing fruit to give to our members in the future, there are a bunch of other reasons we planted them! Planting trees helps the environment since they absorb CO2 emissions from the atmosphere and convert it all into fresh, clean oxygen.

Also, when fruit is shipped from across the world, that’s a whole lot of fuel getting burned up in the process, resulting in significant greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2021 we started our very first Veggie Garden! Since then we have grown a variety of vegetables and herbs to give to our members. We’ve grown carrots, lettuce, ginger, capsicum, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers and heaps more, which we give to our members for free.

Encouraging our members to use fresh healthy ingredients is so important to us and this is one of the ways we do so.

Since we opened our new facility in 2021, we have had a recycling station inside for anyone to donate particular items that we get recycled. This includes printer cartridges, batteries, blister packs, bread tags and bottle lids.

Once our containers are full, we take them to be recycled in Brisbane! Anyone in the community can come to Conquer as a drop off point to donate these items.

CHARITY STATEMENT

At Conquer, we aim to give back an equal and generous amount to serve the people and places that are less fortunate than ourselves. Whether that is on a financial, time or donation of belongings basis, we aim to be a part of several major and minor charity events to support our community and the greater population.

Our entire team is dedicated to and continuously running events every year to ensure we are giving back. Some events we have done are ‘Burpees for Days’ (Supporting the NSW Bushfires and destruction of Natural Habitats and homes respectively), Relay for Life (Several different activities and fundraisers aimed at cancer treatment, time off work, relocation or overseas travel & carer costs), Train the Trainer (All money raised went towards Beyond Blue, providing support programs to address issues related to depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental health issues).

We are also apart of the South Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group (SBSPWG) which gives us the opportunity to help individuals effected directly in our community.

Being able to give back and support our community is such an important value to Conquer and something we pride ourselves and the team in.

AMENITIES

In the facility, we are equipped with a disabled bathroom, ladies bathroom, male bathroom and unisex bathroom. The female and male bathroom are each equipped with 2 toilets and 2 showers with the ladies bathroom also including a hair straighter, hair dryer and full length mirror.

OUTDOOR AREA

Our outdoor area is available to our members 24/7 and to any casual visitors during our staffed hours. We have an outdoor, undercover seating area along with a ‘bootcamp’ style sandpit.

The seating area is a space we created for our members to hang out, study, eat lunch and we even have a few clients who bring their dogs to hang out!

With tyres, rope climbs, battle-ropes, sandbag pulls, sledge hammers and heaps of space to do other activities.
